ChEBI:O-(2-aminoethyl)-L-serine is an L-alpha-amino acid that is L-serine in which the hydroxy group at position 3 is converted to the corresponding 2-aminoethyl ether. An antimetabolic antibiotic obtained from Streptomyces reseoviridofuscus. It has a role as an antimetabolite, an antineoplastic agent, a metabolite and an antimicrobial agent. It is a L-serine derivative and a non-proteinogenic L-alpha-amino acid. It is a conjugate base of a (2S)-2-ammonio-3-(2-ammonioethoxy)propanoate.
