hayflower extract is reported to activate the circulatory system, have analgesic properties, and provide a tightening effect on the skin. Historically, hayflower extract was used in europe to stimulate circulation and to treat rheumatic complaints. Its many active constituents include essential oils, vitamin D, amino acids, carotinoids, caffeic acid, 4-methoxycinnnamic acid, and tannin. This extract has a faintly sweet fragrance. Hayflower is not a specific plant but rather a mixture that is formed by the leftover blossoms and leaves in a hayloft.
