It has been supplemented in medium prepared for oocyte maturation. | | General Description | Eagle′s minimum essential medium (MEM) is a synthetic culture medium, which is composed of balanced salt solutions, and amino acids and vitamins. These components are essential for the growth of cultured cells. MEM might be supplemented with non-essential amino acids, to make MEM non-essential amino acid solution. The non-essential amino acids include L-alanine, L-asparagine, L-aspartic acid, L-glycine, L-serine, L-proline and L-glutamic acid. | | Biochem/physiol Actions | Studies on hybridoma culture shows that addition of Eagle′s minimum essential medium (MEM) non-essential amino acid leads to enhanced membrane stability, during death phase of the culture.
