Description | This alkaloid, obtained from Solanum congestijlorum Dun. DC., has the lower of the above two melting points when crystallized rapidly and the higher when crystallized slowly from organic solvents. It is dextrorotatory with [α]20D + 122.7° (c 1.15, CHC13). Treatment with AC20 in pyridine gives the tracetate which is not crystallizable. Hydrogenation over Pt02 yields the dihydro derivative, m.p. 282-5°C; [α]20D + 25.9° (c 0.424, CHCl3). | References | Sato et al., J. Org. Chem., 34, 1577 (1969) |
