Uses of Butyl lactate

Butyl lactate is widely used in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and other industries. Solvent-grade butyl lactate is a high-quality green and environmentally friendly high-boiling solvent used in natural resins, synthetic resins, spices, paints, inks, dry cleaning fluids, adhesives, etc. Special specification DL balanced environmental solvents are used in electronic products, coatings, inks and other fields.

Unique high purity and low metal content meet the high quality requirements of the semiconductor industry. As a safe organic solvent, it can be used for cleaning photosensitive materials. With the comprehensive improvement of social environmental protection awareness, people have higher and higher requirements on the living environment, and most of the solvents used are toxic solvents. As a green solvent, butyl lactate has a good market application prospect.

Hazards of Butyl lactate

  • Butyl Lactate can affect you when breathed in.

  • Contact can irritate the skin and eyes.

  • Breathing Butyl Lactate can irritate the nose and throat causing coughing and wheezing.

  • Exposure can cause headache, nausea and vomiting.

Workplace controls and practices

Unless a less toxic chemical can be substituted for a hazardous substance, ENGINEERING CONTROLS are the most effective way of reducing exposure. The best protection is to enclose operations and/or provide local exhaust ventilation at the site of chemical release. Isolating operations can also reduce exposure. Using respirators or protective equipment is less effective than the controls mentioned above, but is sometimes necessary.
