Appearance:clear colorless to pale yellow oil;

Stability:Very Hygroscopic; 

Solubility:Ethyl Acetate (Slightly), Methanol (Slightly);

Boiling Point:105°C.

Uses

2,5-Bishydroxymethyl Tetrahydrofuran is potentially useful as a fragment for the synthesis of small molecules, nucleoside derivatives, and materials.

Storage and Stability

Store under inert atmosphere at -20°C. 

For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial and prior to removing the cap. 

Caution: Light sensitive and very hygroscopic.
