EXAMPLE XIII Preparation of 2-n-nonyl-1,3 dioxane STR20 Following example I from 78.77 g of decylaldehyde (0.5 mole), 45.65 g (0.6 mole) of 1,3 propandiol 0.5 g of p-toluenesulfonic acid in 100 ml toluene are reacted to obtain 67.69 (62.65%) of a colorless product with a b.p. 70°-74° C./0.1 mm. Hg and an nD20 =1.4448.
