General Procedure for the Synthesis of Oxidative Products

General procedure: The mixture of quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones1-5 (0.2 mmol, 1.0 equiv.), (NH4)2S2O8 (0.6 mmol, 3.0 equiv.) was stirred in CH3CN/H2O (4: 1) (2.0 mL/mmol) in an oil bath at 60 oC, in a 20 mL tube under air. When the reaction was completed (detected by TLC), the mixture was cooled to room temperature. The reaction was quenched with H2O (10 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (3×10 mL). The combined organic layers were dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 and then evaporated in vacuo to afford the corresponding oxidative products.
