A solution of NBS (20.1 g, 111.9 mmol) in DMF (40 mL) was added drop wise to a solution of 3-trifluoromethylaniline (20.0 g, 112.9 mmol) in DMF (80 mL) at room temperature over 40 minutes. The reaction mixture was stirred overnight.After 12 h, the reaction mixture was poured into water and extracted with EtOAc and the organic layer was dried over anhydrous Na2SO4.
