Steps:

1 Synthesis of 2-thienyltrimethoxysilane (VI)

To 27.73 ml (0.069 mol) of 2.5 M solution of n-butyllithium in hexane at 0° C. 7.00 g (0.083 mol) of thiophene were added dropwise.
The resulting lithium derivative of thiophene was added to 40 ml (0.166 mmol) tetraethoxysilane solution in 40 ml THF at 0° C. After vacuum distillation (Tb=120° C./10 mbar) 7.07 g (34% from the theory) of compound VI were obtained. 1H NMR (CDCl3): 1.27 (t, 9H, J=6.7 Hz), 3.90 (q, 6H, J1=6.7 Hz), 7.23 (dd, 1H, J1=3.7 Hz, J2=4.9 Hz), 7.50 (d, 1H, J=3.7 Hz), 7.67 (d, 1H, J=4.9 Hz).
