Manidipine hydrochloride is another second-generation dihydropyridine calcium
antagonist introduced as an antihypertensive. In animal studies, manidipine
hydrochloride dose-dependently decreased systolic pressure with potent and
long-lasting effects. It has little cardiodepressant activity and its claimed to be useful in hypertensive patients without the fear of cardiac failure or severe
