Hazard Information | Back Directory | [Chemical Properties]
27-Methyloctacosane is a natural product, Boiling Point: 413.00 ~ 414.00 °C. @ 760.00 mm Hg (est); Flash Point: 158.80 °C; logP (o/w): 15.981; Vapour Pressure: 0.000001 mmHg @ 25.00 °C. Soluble in ethanol, insoluble in water. | [Uses]
27-Methyloctacosane is found in Solanum tuberosum, Coptotermes formosanus, tacheta domesticus L and other organisms. It is an important constituent of 2-methylalkanes in the hydrocarbon composition of the common cricket (tacheta domesticus L.), with a content of about 8%; it is also the most common constituent of the surface lipids of hickory weevil larvae. It is commonly used in chemical analyses and experimental studies. |
