1-(4-bromophenyl)-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazole is a triazole derivative. Triazoles are an important class of organic compounds, playing an important role in modern medicinal chemistry. Compounds with 1,2,3- and 1,2,4-triazole moieties are known to possess fungicidal, antimicrobial, anticonvulsant, antidepressant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antitumor activities[1]. | [Synthesis]
In a round bottom flask, 4-bromophenyl azide (0.1 mmol) and Tetramethylguanidine (0.3 mmol) were further added. Then dimethyl acetonylphosphonate (0.1 mmol) was added. After stirring at 80 for 16h, the entire reaction was monitored by TLC until the reaction was completed. Finally, the crude product is extracted with water and ethyl acetate, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and then separated by silica gel column to obtain pure product 1-(4-bromophenyl)-5-methyl-1,2,3-triazole.
