A highly aromatic extract, called oleoresin of deertongue, is prepared from the dried leaves with a volatile hydrocarbon
solvent. The extract has a heavy-sweet, coumarin-like, rich herbaceous odor. The extract is used in tobacco flavorings. It is interesting
