Luguine has been isolated from Glauciumfiavum Cr. var. vestitum. It crystallizes as yellow
plates from AcOEt and is dextrorotatory with a specific rotation of [α]D + 172° (c 0.05,
dioxan). The ultraviolet/visible spectrum in dioxan has absorption maxima at 255, 334, 345 and 384 nm. Luguine has been characterized as the acetate with m.p. 284°C. | [CAS DataBase Reference]
