The New Caledonian plant Cryptocaria longifolia Kostermans yields this alkaloid which
has been obtained as a pale yellow amorphous powder with no definite melting point. The
base is laevorotatory with a specific rotation of raMO -72° (c 0.2, EtOH) and gives an ultraviolet spectrum in EtOH with absorption maxima at 255 and 279-281 nm. |
