C-Type Natriuretic Peptide (CNP) has been shown to be present in the central nervous system of mammals and to participate in the regulation of the homeostasis of the fluid, electrolytic balance and blood pressure, learning and memory.
I.c.v. administration of C-Type Natriuretic Peptide (CNP) (1-22) in a dose of 2 nM induces an increase in the severity of picrotoxin-kindled convulsions 24 and 48 hrs after application of the peptide.
