Description
A norcholestanol alkaloid from Veratrum album, this base has [α]25D + 7.5° (CHCI3). The O,N-diacetyl derivative is amorphous and has [α]25D - 98° (EtOH). Catalytic hydrogenation yields a dihydro derivative, m.p. 1 03-soC and a tetra_x0002_hydro compound, m.p. 247-2S0°C.
