Preparation by hydrolysis of 3-acetamido-4-hydroxy-propiophenone with refluxing 10 N hydrochloric acid for 30 min (74%)
Also obtained by treatment of 4-hydroxy-3-nitro-propiophe-none suspended in hydrochloric acid with granulated tin or in the presence of Pd/C
Preparation by reduction of the nitro group of 4-hydroxy-3-nitropropiophenone in boiling alkaline solution with sodium hydrosulfite.
