Uses
2-Hydroxyamino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo(4,5-b)pyridine is a mutagenic metablite of PhIP. PhIP is the most abundant mutagenic heterocyclic amine in cooked foods. Studies have shown the activation of 2 -Hydroxyamino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo(4,5-b)pyridine results in the formation of PhIP adducts and 5-OH-PhIP.
