Biological Activity
Cholesterol sulfate sodium-d7 is deuterium labeled Cholesterol sulfate sodium. Cholesteryl sulfate sodium is an important regulatory molecule. Cholesterol sulfate sodium is a component of cell membranes where it has a stabilizing role and protects erythrocytes from osmotic lysis and regulating sperm capacitation[1][2]. Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs[1].
