Uses
3',4'-Didehydro-3'-deoxycytidine Triphosphate, is a novel compound having anti viral properties. It can inhibit the replication of several viruses, including Zika virus. This molecule can be produced naturally in mammals body via dehydration of cytidine triphosphate (CTP) catalyzed by the enzyme viperin.

ChEBI: 3'-deoxy-3',4'-didehydro-CTP is an organic triphosphate resulting from the formal condensation of the 5'-hydroxy group of 3'-deoxy-3',4'-didehydro-cytidine with triphosphoric acid. It is a chain terminator for RNA-dependent RNA polymerases. It has a role as an antimetabolite, an antiviral agent and an EC 2.7.7.48 (RNA-directed RNA polymerase) inhibitor. It is a pyrimidone and an organic triphosphate. It is functionally related to a 3'-deoxy-3',4'-didehydro-cytidine. It is a conjugate acid of a 3'-deoxy-3',4'-didehydro-CTP(4-).
