An alkaloid isolated from Clit0cybe fasciculata, the structure of lepistine has been established by X-ray analysis of the hydrobromide which forms orthorhombic crystals with space group P212121and a = 16.214, b = 10.516 and c = 6.975 A with Z = 4.
