Biological Activity

Germinal center-associated, signaling and motility (GCSAM) is a germinal center (GC)-specific gene, expressed by the tumor cells. It is expressed in the germinal center (GC) lymphocytes and GC-derived lymphomas. It possesses an immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motif (ITAM). Its expression in B cells is modulated by interleukin-4 (IL-4). It has been reported th at GCSAM negatively regulates lymphocyte migration. It acts as a regulator in the RhoA signaling pathway. It also stimulates the GDP-GTP exchange rate of RhoA.
