Beryllium Antimonide Chemical Properties,Uses,Production
Preparation
Beryllium antimonide has been prepared by the reaction of Be and Sb metals. Be melts at 1287°C and is stable in an inert atmosphere until its boiling point of 2469°C. Since Sb melts at 630.6°C and is stable in an inert atmosphere until its boiling point of 1587°C, the reaction is best carried out by evaporating Sb metal at about 1600°C onto Be metal.
