Chemical Properties

Boronia is a shrub up to 2 m high growing preferentially along the coasts and in marshy areas in western and southwestern Australia. It has small leaves, which are also aromatic, and small cup-shaped flowers. The flowers are about 80 to 100 mm in diameter. Usually the exterior of the petals is dark chocolate-brown while the interior is bright yellow. Flowers are used as a foodstuff. The plant flowers between August and October. Boronia has a rich, fresh, fruital or slightly spicy odor.
