Description

Also present in Pachysandra terminalis Sieb. et Zucc., this alkaloid has been shown to be the N-f3f3-dimethy1acry1y1 derivative of the preceding base. It has [α]D + 67° (CHC13) and on catalytic hydrogenation, the dimethylacryly1 portion is reduced with the formation of the dihydro derivative, m.p. 138-9°C; [α]D + 54° (CHCI3).
