Monoerucin is used to study alamethicin’s (A470700) mode of action in membrane channel formation. It is also used as the membrane for the study of gramicidin A channel.

ChEBI: 1-erucoylglycerol is a fatty acid ester resulting from the formal condensation of the hydroxy group at position-1 of glycerol with the carboxy group of erucic acid. It has a role as a food emulsifier. It is a 1-monoglyceride and a fatty acid ester. It is functionally related to a glycerol and an erucic acid.
