Chemical Properties
Ambrocenide is a white crystalline material with an extremely powerful and long-lasting, woody, amber note. It is prepared from ??-cedrene epoxide via an acid-catalyzed ring opening reaction affording cedrane diol, which is subsequently reacted with acetone to give the acetal.
