Preparation
CaCO3 +H2SiF6 →CaSiF6 +H2O + CO2
Calcium hexafluorosilicate can be prepared by reacting a large excess of CaCO3 or Ca(NO3)2 with a high concentration of H 2SiF6.
Chemical Properties
colorless, tetr; powder(s); obtained by reaction of a Ca salt and H2SiF6; used as a flotation agent and insecticide [HAW93] [MER06] [CRC10]
Uses
In wood, rubber, textile industries; flotation agent; insecticide.
Safety Profile
