一般的な説明
A colorless oily flammable liquid. Flash point 103°F. Boiling point 120.3°C (248°F) at 760 mm Hg. Melting point -93°C (-199°F). Density about the same as water. Vapors much heavier than air. Vapors may irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Toxic oxides of nitrogen are released during combustion. Used as a propellant and as a solvent.

NITROPROPANE forms salts with inorganic bases such as calcium hydroxide. The dry salts are explosive [Chem. Eng. news 30:2344. 1952].

Inhalation causes headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, restlessness, muscular uncoordination and irritation of the respiratory tract. Contact causes irritation of the eyes and skin. Ingestion may cause headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, restlessness and muscular uncoordination.
