解説

糸状菌の一種．コウジカビ属ともいう．菌糸に隔壁があり，放射状の分生子の鎖をつけるのが特色．醸造に用いられる有用なものと，アスペルギルス症病原菌やアフラトキシン生産菌などのように有害なものがある．

定義

A genus of imperfect fungi, at least 20 species are known to cause opportunistic infections in humans. Aspergillus species are ubiquitous in the environment and are the second most commonly recovered fungus from opportunistic mycoses following those of Candida (commonly known as yeast) species. Many Aspergillus produce mycotoxins, which are potent toxins.
