Biochem/physiol Actions

HCCS (holocytochrome c synthase)/cytochrome c-type heme lyase is essential for the maturation and respiration of cytochrome c (cyt c). It is a key factor of the eukaryotic cytochrome c biogenesis pathway. Mutations in HCCs gene cause death in males and in microphthalmia with linear skin defects in females.
