Cornposting is the process of microbial degradation of organic matter in the presence of aerobic and anaerobic micro-organisms, to lower the C/N ratio and create a well-rotted manure called compost. The major objectives of composting are to stabilize putrescible organic matter, to conserve as much of the plant nutrient and organic matter as possible, and to produce a uniform, relatively dry product suitable for use as a manure.
