Use
Propionitrile is an intermediate for organic syntheses, e.g. Houben-Hoesch reaction, as well as for pharmaceuticals, e.g. ketoprofen and fragrances. It is formed as a by-product of the electrodimerization of acrylonitrile to adiponitrile.
