3-(Bromomethyl)benzoic acidN-succinimidyl ester may be used as hetero-bifunctional linker for the quaternisation of 5-(4-methoxyphenyl)2(4-pyridyl)oxazole and 2-(6-chromanyl)5(4-pyridyl)oxazole. These compounds are useful in the preparation of fluorescent stains.
