Description

An amphophilic antibiotic with antifungal activity. The antifungal mode of action has been documented through the inhibition of β-glucagon biosythesis through selective blockage of the β-1,3-glucan synthetase reaction. This inhibition of β-1,3-glucan synthetase has also been attributed to Aculeacin A’s antibiotic activity to inhibit cell wall synthesis.
