Methiothepin maleate shows moderate affinity for 5-HT5 and high affinity for 5-HT6 and 5-HT7. Methiothepin maleate also antagonist at 5-HT1 and 5-HT2. Potent 5-HT2 antagonist, also active as 5-HT1 antagonist. Differentiates 5-HT1D sub-types.
