Description

Melperone hydrochloride is an atypical neuroleptic; SR-2A (5-HT2A receptor) antagonist and D2DR inhibitor. Melperone hydrochloride causes an increase in dopamine levels in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) and nucleus accumbens and an increase in ACh release in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC). Melperone also binds adrenergic α1 and α2 receptors.
