Description
N-Methylformamide is used to prepare methyl isocyanate. It is used as an extraction solvent for aromatic hydrocarbons and acts as a ligand in coordination chemistry. It is employed as a solvent in oil refineries and in aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Further, it is used as a reagent in organic synthesis.
