8-Oxo-Benzylguanine is a derivative of O-Benzylguanine, an reversible inhibitor of the mammalian DNA repair protein, O6-alkylguanine-DNA alkyltransferase. O-Benzylguanine is known to assists in the protection against carcinogenic and therapeutic alkylating agents.
