As an alkaloid found in the leaves of Duboisia Hopwoodii, and a constitutent of tobacco smoke, (E)-N-[Methyl]-4-(3-pyridinyl)-3-buten-1-amine can be used a potential drug for the treatment of senile dementia of the Alzheimer type and currently being investigated as a nicotinic agonist with CNS sel.
