Biological Activity | Potassium voltage-gated channel, Shal-related subfamily, member 1 (KCND1) is also known as Kv4.1. It is a human gene. The gene plays a role in the proliferation of the human gastric cancer cell lines MKN-45 and SNU-638. It can be considered as a therapeutic target for human gastric cancer. It also plays a crutial role in proliferation of tumorigenic human mammary epithelial cells. The elevated expression of this gene may be useful as a diagnostic marker for staging mammary tumors and selective blockers of Kv4.1 may serve to suppress tumor cell proliferation. |
