Description | A steroidal alkaloid present in Solanum congesti[lorum Dun. DC., this base has [α]20D + 35.6° (c 1.6, CHCI3). It forms colourless rods from a variety of organic solvents. Treatment with AcOH in HCl gives the O-acetate as colourless needles from Me2CO, m.p. 185-195°C. Oxidation with Mn02 gives 23-oxosolacongestidine. | Definition | ChEBI: Solacongestidine is a steroid alkaloid. It has a role as a metabolite. | References | Sato et aI., J. Org.
