| ANTI-KERATIN 14 Usage And Synthesis |
Uses | Anti-KRT14 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit . | General Description | CK14/ KRT14 (keratin 14) is one of the cytokeratin isotypes of human cells. It is an intermediate filament protein. It is located on human chromosome 17q21. | Biochem/physiol Actions | KRT14 (keratin 14) is required for the generation of a perinuclear structure of keratin filaments in keratinocytes. It is a key player in the assembly, organization and dynamics of keratin filaments. Mutations in KRT14 are associated with epidermolysis bullosa simplex. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 17q21. |
