SSTR1 gene is mapped to human chromosome 14q21.1. | | Biochem/physiol Actions | Somatostatin Receptor Type 1 (SSTR1) protein extracellular loop regions are crucial for ligand binding. SSTR1 gene down-regulated in reported in preeclampsia but it is overexpressed in breast cancer. It is reported to block the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway.
