Nucleolin exhibits autodegradation, DNA and RNA helicase activities, and DNA-dependent ATPase activity. Nucleolin′s multiple activities may be regulated by proteolysis and methylation. It also interacts with telomerase andthis interaction is critical for the nucleolar localization of telomerase.
