| Uses | The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution is 5 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator. | | General Description | Cluster of differentiation 69 (CD69) is a type II integral membrane protein, encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 12p13.31. CD69 is a member of the C-type lectin family of surface receptors. The encoded protein is expressed in all bone marrow-derived cells, with the exception of erythrocytes. | | Biochem/physiol Actions | Cluster of differentiation 69 (CD69) exerts a pro-inflammatory effect by activating leukocytes. In humans, CD69 negatively regulates immune reactivity. Knockout/deficiency of the gene increases the risk of susceptibility to autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases. The encoded protein might act as a prognostic marker for bendamustine response in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patients. CD69 facilitates natural killer (NK) cell function. In addition, it also helps in activation and differentiation of a wide variety of hematopoietic cells. |
