Description | This quaternary alkaloid occurs in Fagara rhoifolia Lam., Zanthoxylum
brachyacanthum F. Muell and Z. veneficum F. M. Bail. The chloride forms
colourless needles from MeOH, m.p. 23S-7°C (dec.) or plates, m.p. 240-2°C
(dec.); [α]21D- 134.2° (c 0.23, H20). The corresponding iodide crystallizes from
EtOH in colourless prisms, m.p. 216-8°C and remelting at 246°C (dec.) following
an intermediate solidification. It has [α]22D - 115° to 116° (c 0.3, H20). | References | Jowett, Pyman.,J. Chem. Soc., 103,290 (1913)
