Uses | Monoclonal Anti-β-Tubulin IV antibody has been used in immunostaining. | General Description | Microtubules are heterodimeric proteins that comprise of α- and β-tubulins. β-tubulins have four different isotypes in brain cells, ranging from β I to β IV . Anti-tubulin antibodies are useful to study the localization of tubulin proteins. Monoclonal Anti-β-Tubulin IV antibody is specific for epitope located in the C-terminal sequence of β-tubulin isotype IV in humans, bovines, hamsters, rats, mice and chickens. The product does not react with other tubulin isotypes. | Biochem/physiol Actions | β-Tubulin IV creates the oligodendrocyte microtubule network, that helps in the transport of myelin proteins, lipids and RNA at the time of myelination. It participates in the generation of early fibrotic stages. TUBB4 plays a major role in the transport and proper localization of N-cadherin within the plasma membrane. |
